
	Upcoming Events Walk-a-Rock-a-Thon: Saturday, April 26, 2008, 9:00 AM For at least the past four years St. James' has held a Walk-a-Rock-a-Thon, a fundraiser event to benefit Tri-City Homeless Coalition's Winter Relief program – a program that grew out of the need to get people off city streets during the cold winter months. The money raised during the Walk-a-Rock-a-Thon gives St. James' the opportunity to pay for certain costs when we host families participating in the Winter Relief program. The remainder of the funds is donated to Tri-City Homeless Coalition. Last year, we raised $2100. We are trying something different this year– walking and rocking with our sister parish, St. Anne's, located in the Irvington District. Instead of our usual loop through the immediate Centerville neighborhood, we will gather at St. Anne's and walk with two routes available– a short route to the Tri-City Homeless Coalition administrative offices, and a longer route – to St. James'. The routes are still being planned, but the short route would be approximately 1 mile, and the longer route would be approximately 5 miles. And, of course, for those who don't or can't walk, rockers will be available at either parish. Available for Lunch ministry invites you to join us to celebrate Mother’s Day at Cabrillo Park Café, May 11 at 12:30pm. If you think someone is available for lunch that day but needs encouragement to attend, please let me know and I will convey a personal invite.
